I don't get how to keep my back flat when doing any ab exercises and my neck used to not strain but it is now. I'll push my back and it's flat, but my lower back still hurts!!!

I dont want to be negative but i dont think that you can Build muscle or burn a Good amount of calories with this Kind of workout. Is this just for having fun at the end of a workout or is this considered a Real workout. Again i dont want to be negative and support any Kind of activity.
